MELT-Festival 2007

Last weekend in Leipzig

Me, scaryKristina and some othersThe biggest european Wave Gothic Meeting took plaze last weekend in Leipzig, Eastern Germany. As expected it was a very crazy festival again. About 20.000 black dressed people celebrated themselves and showed their creative, mostly self-made outfits. I enjoyed some very impressive concerts as the ones of Vive La Fête and Cinema Strange for example and the usual suspects as ASP and Subway to Sally. Many medieval Locations like the Moritz-Bastion and the Park-Stage were the ideal frame for these events. For the first time a visited the Monument of the Battle of the Nations. It’s a quite impressive building! And as a location for a very quiet, familiar concert it was even more spectacular.

And also the people I got to know were very nice and pleasant. I will surely meet some of them again, latest next year in Leipzig. I’m looking forward!

“In a view minutes we arrive in Eisenach”

… says the train-operator. I’m sitting in the ICE to Leipzig where I’m going to visit the biggest European Gothic-Festival: www.wave-gotik-treffen.de. I’ve been there in 2005 and enjoyed it very much. It is something really different. Especially for me as I do not like German carnival in the end of the winter. That is stupid! But masquerading over Pentecost in Leipzig is weird. :-)

What happened else in the last days? Last saturday I took part in the Fjord Trophy-Contest in Karlsruhe. See some pics!

Last week’s tuesday I was at the bwcon’s anniversary and awards show. It was a great show and a very nice evening with interesting talks and delicious finger-food.

On wednesday I’ve been to the casino in Baden-Baden for my very first time. It was an event of the Marketing Club’s Juniors with a very interesting presentation held by the General Manager. He told us amazing things like that they do actually not know how big their turnover really is. They know how much money there is in the table at the beginning of a day and they can count it at the end of the day. The difference is their profit or loss. But how much money is moved over the tables throughout the day is out of their control.

Thursday: I visited my little niece. She is so sweet and cute! She is about two years old now and learns so much! It’s great fun to teach her things she can really use for her whole life. This for example:

Friday: Got a nice new contact in Dubai and the new MINI for the weekend. Cool car! The differences are not very basical but there are many little changes in details. The new diesel-engine is much stronger than my one and the chassis is great fun through Black Forrest!
